Billing, plans, and the trial

Cove is billed per workspace. Conversations are unlimited. There is no $0.99 when a visitor goes quiet.

The ladder

From Cove pricing, same figures we charge:

• Free at $0.
• Mini at $39 per month ($33 per month billed yearly).
• Essentials at $89 ($74 yearly).
• Plus at $219 ($183 yearly).

Yearly is two months free. Paid plans start with a 14-day trial. A card is required at checkout. Cancel before day 14 and you are not charged. Extra seats are listed at $6 per month on Mini and up. Checkout is Dodo.

What the rungs buy

Every paid plan is the widget, the inbox, and articles. Plus adds article-grounded drafts. WhatsApp, a customer portal, campaigns (Broadcasts), SLA clocks, and phone callbacks are in the workspace. Pick a rung for seats and the bill you want.

You are not billed per outcome.

When the trial ends

Free stays on. No card, no lock. The inbox and the website widget keep working.

A paid trial of Mini, Essentials, or Plus that ends without an active subscription locks the workspace. Owners and admins are sent to Settings → Billing to start a trial or upgrade. Agents see a locked desk. The public widget script (/widget.js?site=…) and /api/public/widget/config return HTTP 402, so the embed does not load — it is not only hidden in the UI.

Dodo writes plan, billing_status, and current_period_end on the workspace. Access stays open while billing_status is active (that includes a live trial) or while current_period_end is still in the future after a cancel-at-period-end. Canceled after that date, or on_hold / past due, turns the widget and dashboard off.

Cards and invoices

Owners manage billing. Update the card from the billing screen in the workspace. A cancelled checkout charges nothing.
