The agreement
By creating a workspace or embedding the snippet you agree to these terms and the Privacy policy. If you are accepting for a company, you represent that you can bind it. If you do not agree, do not use Cove.
Accounts and workspaces
You are responsible for seats, for who you invite, and for enabling two-factor authentication on owners. Do not share one login — assignment and typing indicators only work if people are themselves. You must keep the public site key’s allowed origins accurate. You are responsible for activity under your workspace, including messages sent through the widget.
Acceptable use
You may not:
- Use the widget to send spam, phishing, or malware
- Scrape, load-test, or probe the messenger or APIs beyond published rate limits
- Circumvent the origin lock or impersonate another workspace’s public key
- Upload unlawful content, or content you do not have rights to
- Resell Cove as a white-label helpdesk you did not build, beyond the Plus appearance switch
We can suspend a workspace that uses the product to abuse visitors or our infrastructure.
Customer content
You own your conversations, contacts, articles, and quick replies. You grant Cove a license to host, display, and transmit that content solely to provide the service (including Resend for outbound mail when a contact has an address, and subprocessors listed in the Privacy policy). We do not train public models on your threads. You represent that you have the rights and notices required to collect visitor messages.
The widget on your site
The snippet loads an iframe from coveinbox.co and sets functional cookies on your origin so a visitor can resume a thread. You must disclose that in your own privacy notice where the law requires it, and obtain cookie consent where you are required to. Cove does not inject a consent banner onto your site. Allowed origins are the security boundary; a copied key is rejected on origins you did not list.
Appearance (theme, radius, launcher, copy) is configured in Widget, not as snippet attributes. Native mobile SDKs are not included. Connect screens for other networks are not a promise of a finished omnichannel desk.
Plans, trial, billing
Plans are per workspace, not per conversation. Seats included vary by plan; extra seats are billed as listed on /pricing. Paid plans start with a fourteen-day trial. Checkout is Dodo Payments. Yearly is billed in advance as shown. Fees are non-refundable except where Dodo or mandatory law requires otherwise, or where we agree in writing. If a payment fails we may downgrade or suspend the workspace after notice.
Features described as “listed on Plus” (white-label, draft from articles) are not included on Free. WhatsApp, a customer portal, Broadcasts, and phone callbacks are workspace features, not a separate product you buy from another vendor.
API and scraping
Authenticated APIs are subject to published rate limits. Do not scrape the widget, harvest visitor identifiers, or use the public config endpoint to build a competing messenger on our infrastructure. Keys you create are secret; rotate them if they leak.
Availability and support
We aim to keep the messenger and inbox available. We do not sell a numbered SLA on the self-serve plans. Status is published at /uptime. Support is email to help@coveinbox.co during US Eastern business hours, not a 24/7 phone line. In-app support notes require sign-in.
Intellectual property
Cove, the product, and the marketing site are owned by the operator of coveinbox.co. You may not copy the messenger UI as a competing product. Feedback you send may be used to improve Cove without obligation.
Suspension and termination
You can stop using Cove and delete a workspace. We can suspend for acceptable-use violations, non-payment, or risk to other customers. After termination we delete workspace data according to the Privacy policy (including backup lag). Export before you delete if you need a copy.
Disclaimer and liability
Cove is provided as-is. We do not warrant uninterrupted service, that drafts from articles are legally correct, or that the widget will load through every ad blocker. To the fullest extent allowed by law, Cove is not liable for lost profits, lost conversations, or incidental damages. Our total liability for a claim relating to the service is limited to the fees you paid us for the workspace in the three months before the claim. Some places do not allow these limits; in those places they apply only as far as allowed. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited (for example, fraud).
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws applicable to the operator of the Cove service, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Mandatory consumer protections where you live still apply. We do not name a fictional Delaware LLC on this page. For a venue or a DPA, write help@coveinbox.co — do not assume a standard BAA or EU-only region exists until we confirm it in writing.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top will change. Continued use after an update is acceptance. If a change is material to billing or data processing we will say so by email to the owner address when we can.
