Why the original stays
Overwriting what the visitor sent is how disputes start. A teammate should see both lines: what they typed, and a translation underneath. Cove puts that translation under the original on the same message in the shared inbox. Locale sits on the contact. The original stays.
How it works
When a message has a translation, it sits under the text they sent. Operators still write the reply. The visitor is not shown a swapped bubble. Free and paid plans list translation, but it needs Cloudflare Workers AI bound for the workspace — without that binding there is nothing under the message. We do not sell a 50-language catalog, and this is not Intercom Copilot as a billed add-on.

A desk that already answers international visitors in the website messenger and needs the team to read the thread without guessing. Not a visitor-facing overlay. Not a claim that every language pair is covered. Translation is for the team in the inbox.
